The Irony.

A Toronto police officer is facing impaired driving charges after a man refused to move his car while stopped at an intersection.

Witnesses say the man was behind the wheel when he stopped his car at the intersection of Finch Avenue and Markham Road. When he did not start moving again when the lights changed, witnesses approached the car and then called police.

Const. Lionel Sean Peters, 32, was taken into custody and charged with impairing driving and with having a blood alcohol level higher than 80 mg. He is scheduled to appear in court in October.

Peters has been a member of the force for seven years and currently works at 32 Division, located in the area near Bathurst Street and Wilson Avenue. He was off-duty at the time of the incident.
